Do you have advice on choosing the best campervan for me?
How many people can sleep comfortably in a van is called its “Berth”.
Remember that each van can be driven with a standard motorcar license so which van appeals in terms of the number of berths and its facilities will help you determine which van is best for you. Check out the configuration and facilities of each van using the links on this page.
What are the campervans like?
Our campervans are very highly specified to bring you a camping experience with all the creature comforts you desire along with the best in 4-wheeled freedom holidays.
All campervans undergo a very thorough maintenance schedule as well as a detailed check procedure before they leave our yard and your holiday commences.
Do the Campervans come with comprehensive Insurance?
Yes. All our vans have comprehensive insurance cover and this is included in the rates we quote to you for the hire.
Can I reduce the Excess?
Yes. You can definitely reduce the excess you are liable for. A small fee applies.
What is included in the hire?
Each van is fitted out with a range of top quality, branded facilities – to view what is included in each van as well as the inventory please check them using the motorhome links on this page.
How do I obtain a quote?
Getting a quote is easy – just check our rental campervan availability and complete a few simple questions and we will get back to you within 12 hours.
How do I convert my quote to a booking?
Once your quote has been completed we require a NZ$500 deposit to confirm your booking. You can pay this online.
Are there free airport transfers in Nelson?
Yes. We offer a complementary pick and delivery service from the Nelson Airport. Please discuss with us.
Can I Go One Way?
Yes – arrangements can be made to drop off your campervan outside of Nelson. Please discuss your holiday plans with us to see how we can help. Please note that a minimum hire period may apply.
Who Can Drive The Campervans?
Driving a campervan is easy and vans can be driven on a car license.
All drivers must be over 25 years of age and hold an International Drivers license (in English) or a full New Zealand license.
Please note that all drivers must be noted on the hire document at the time the campervan is picked up.

Can a Baby or Booster Seat be fitted to any Campervan?
Under New Zealand law all children under the age of five must be properly restrained by an approved child restraint. Not all vehicles can necessarily accommodate all types of child restraint equipment.
Please discuss your family’s needs with us at the time of booking.
Where can I stay in our Campervan?
New Zealand has an fantastic network of holiday parks plus your campervan is equipped to be “freedom camping”
Usually you do not have to book (other than the Christmas and New Year break when it is advisable). We do recommend that you choose holiday parks that have a Qualmark Rating as they will offer you a wider range of facilities (including disposal of your waste water) and will have provision for you to plug your campervan into mains power.
Can I take my Campervan anywhere eg. Off-road?
Campervans are not designed to be taken off-road and can only be driven on sealed/bitumen or well-maintained roads under normal conditions.
Taking your Campervan off road may void your insurance cover and is expressly forbidden under the terms and conditions of hire. Please read the terms and conditions Travel NZ reserves the right, at its sole discretion to restrict vehicles using roads in certain areas that have been subject to adverse conditions eg. This might happen if weather or forces of nature affected the safety of your travel.
Do you have Vehicle Assistance while I am on the road?
Absolutely. For road-side assistance ring: Automobile Association (AA) Roadside Assistance on
Call toll free on 0800 734 543 or *222 from your mobile and quote Company Membership: 3479663.
You must ring and notify Travel NZ of the breakdown within 48 hours and you agree to take whatever action is requested of you by Travel NZ in order to ensure the safety and wellbeing of yourselves and/or the vehicle.
What time can I pick-up and drop-off?
We are open Monday - Saturday, but if you are arriving in to Nelson on a Sunday we can accommodate your plans Vans may be picked up are between 10am and 5pm to allow us to give you a full walk through of your van and its features.
Vans may be dropped off between 10am and 5pm.
Campervans may be picked up or dropped off at alternative times by prior arrangement. Fees may apply - Please discuss your holiday plans with us at the time of booking.
Can I change the size of the vehicle?
Up until 14 days prior to your booking start date we will do our best to accommodate any change to the vehicle type that you have requested. Please note that some changes may incur an additional charge.
Can I extend my holiday?
A request to extend your holiday will be dealt with by availability at the time and a quotation given for the extended period.
Is there a minimum rental period?
Generally we do not impose a minimum hire period however for hires of less than 7 days we do not provide linen.
Minimum hire periods may apply during peak periods.

Rates and conditions of hire are subject to change (without notice) from time to time. The hirer is financially responsible for any loss or damage during the term of the hire. This includes chattels, fixtures and fittings as well as keys.
